Wingman · For You
For You

Smart people get stuck on hard decisions all the time.

You already know what the decision is. You just can't make it. So you read the message again. You ask one more friend. You wait until you feel sure. Weeks go by, and it's still there.

The reason is the way you're trying to decide. I was trained to see it, and to get you moving.

Two Ways Stuck

Most people get stuck in one of two ways.

Some people can't stop thinking. They keep gathering. One more opinion, one more option, one more week. The decision never feels ready.

Others go the other way. They decide fast to make the bad feeling stop, then wish they'd waited. So they change their mind, and change it again.

Both feel like progress. Both leave you in the same place.

What Helps

You don't think your way out. You move your way out.

Start with one thing. What would a good outcome look like for you? Good enough to move on. It doesn't have to be perfect.

Once you know that, you don't need the whole plan. You need the next step. One move. Then the one after.

It sounds too simple. It works anyway.

Who I Am

Who I am.

I'm Paul. 16 years making hard calls as a fighter pilot, then 12 years helping businesses make theirs. I was trained to decide well when the future is unclear and the stakes are real. The same way of thinking helps one person work out what to do next, and I've put it into simple tools you can use today.

01·Career Move

Mark.

Mark had a job offer in another country. A big move, with family in the mix, and no guarantee it would work out.

He had been stuck for weeks, trying to make the future safe before he made the call. That was the problem. You can't make the future safe.

So we zoomed out. What did good actually look like for him and his family? The answer was already there. Staying in Dubai for the long term wasn't it.

Then we named the worst case out loud. Once it was in the open, it was smaller than the fear around it.

Mark took the job.

5 years later, he's still there.

02·A Change That Stalled

Nadia.

Nadia had to deliver a change in her part of the business. Another department had to support it, and they didn't trust her team.

Nothing was openly blocked. But everything slowed down. Meetings got cautious. Processes got tighter. The real thing slowing it all down was trust.

So we picked one move. Start rebuilding it. Give first. Work with them before going over anyone's head.

The manager on the other side became one of her strongest allies.

When problems came up later, he helped push the work through.

03·Career Growth

David.

David led a specialist team inside a global firm. The work was high impact, but the business measured value by deal size, so his team stayed invisible.

We decided on 4 actions to put the value of his work in front of the ExCom. The worst case was easy to live with. They wouldn't change how they thought.

The actions gave him momentum. But they didn't shift any opinions, and recognition wasn't coming.

So David had his answer.

He took the same skill to a firm that valued it.
